Watch our technician replace multiple hard drives in our Level 3 Datacenter. We replace drives in our servers to make sure our servers are always performing at their highest level. Even if the drive has not yet fully failed and is only producing SMART event notifications, we will still replace the drive. Our servers are actively monitored for changes in the RAID array’s state as well as changes in the hard drives state / condition. Technicians are notified which server has thrown the event and which drive is causing the event to be thrown, including the drive’s port, serial number, size, model and other information to find the failed drive quickly and get it replaced with a brand new drive. Once the drive is replaced our internal auditing systems are updated and the RAID array is rebuilt to the new drive.
