This evening at 8PM MST we will be upgrading our MySQL server’s RAID storage system. The upgrade will migrate all data to a new SSD based RAID storage system. Our current storage solution can handle roughly 25k IOPS which the MySQL service is quickly using up causing slow results as well as poor INNODB ACID performance. Our new Samsung-based SSD RAID solution will deliver nearly 500k IOPS, resulting in 20x the I/O performance of our currently storage solution.
We expect this upgrade to take up to 2 hours. During this time all MySQL databases will be unavailable.
