Windows DNS Server Changes

With the coming of our new cloud-based shared hosting systems we’ve made changes to our DNS setups to better serve clients around the world. Most users will not need to do anything, if your domain is set to our name servers already (ns1.aspnix.com, ns2.aspnix.com and ns3.aspnix.com) then you do not need to do anything. There may be an hour or so delay in propagation of the changes, most users should not see any issues.

However if you are a reseller or a customer that has created their own custom name servers you will need to update your name server IP addresses with your registrar to the following…

  • ns1.aspnix.com – 8.8.246.5 => 54.85.28.59 (primary for US based customers)
  • ns2.aspnix.com – 8.8.247.5 => 54.148.11.91
  • ns3.aspnix.com –  54.93.198.128 => 54.93.199.55 (primary for EU based customers)

These changes open our DNS coverage to different regions of the United States and Europe and improve DNS request performance. Our updated DNS structure will also be more resilient to outages and network issues.
